Zimbabwe: Robert Mugabe receives a massage chair as birthday gift from his cabinet ministers
Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe received from his ministers a massage chair as a birthday gift. Local media reports say it was an unusual gift. For his 93rd birthday, the ministers agreed to make such a symbolic gesture to the oldest President in office in the world.
In addition, Mugabe reportedly received a 9-carat watch and a pen. Speaking to cabinet ministers at the State House ceremony, the President accompanied by his wife praised the good spirit of his team and expressed his gratitude.
In power for 36 years and accused of not having succeeded in raising the economy of his country, Robert Mugabe was nominated candidate for the presidential election of 2018. His wife, Grace Mugabe, convinced that her husband is highly appreciated by the people; said President Mugabe would be reelected as the country’s president even if he died before the 2018 elections.
In 2015, the first Lady told sympathizers that a special wheelchair would be made for President Mugabe so he could rule even at the age of 100.
