Zimbabwe: Mugabe government expresses satisfaction following defeat of Hillary Clinton
The main Zimbabwean government daily newspaper The Herald has expressed its satisfaction following the defeat of Hillary Clinton. In an editorial on Thursday, The Herald welcomed the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States and thanked the American people for not electing the “warlord” Hillary Clinton.
The paper noted that “The destructive struggle of the United States has manifested itself in illegal sanctions against the Zimbabwean regime and the support of opposition activities and destructive wars all over the world.” The pro President Mugabe publication added that “For us, Hillary’s hands are covered with blood, from the Democratic Republic of Congo to Libya, and we again thank the Americans for removing this warlord from power.”
Even though the policy of the Trump administration is still uncertain, many African Heads of State have congratulated the Republican candidate, who becomes the 45th President of the United States. At the venerable age of 92 years, Robert Mugabe, the oldest president in office in the world has constantly blasted the West including the US for the economic crisis in his country.
