Inhabitants of Yaounde have been reassured of a constant electricity supply throughout the 2016 Female Africa Cup of Nations in November. SONATREL has acquired a 45.000 megavolt transformer to boost power supply in Yaounde.

The general manager of the Electricity Transmission Company (SONATREL) visited the site hosting the transformer on the3rd of August 2016 to inspect the equipment. The transformer which will go operational this August 2016 and it cost an estimated 700 million CFAF.
