Yaounde: Magistrate dismissed for misconduct, corruption
President Biya dismissed on Thursday night, Pascal Magnaguemabe, a 4th grade notorious magistrate. Pascal Magnaguemabe was fired from the Cameroonian magistracy for abuse of powers of attorney and corruption over a family succession affair.
The Biya text however specified that the magistrate still keeps the right to his pension. The sacking of Pascal Magnaguemabe, comes a month after the 84 year old dictator chaired the Higher Judicial Council meeting.
Mr. Biya’s decision is considered inconsequential and a drop in the pond, in a country where magistrates are deemed to be corrupt.
The judges of Cameroon are, in fact, regularly accused of demanding bribes from litigants.
Pascal Magnaguemabe had been involved in many doggy dealings and had been suspended by Minister Marafa Hamadou Yaya.
