UN to assist La Republique with 381 billion FCFA
The UN systems in Cameroon and the Ministry of the Economy Planning and Regional Development have unveiled the 2017 United Nations Development Assistance Frame work UNDAF. Accordingly, a sum of 381 billion FCFA will be used to assist Cameroon in its developmental projects.
The package was officially presented during a ceremony organized on Monday the 8th of May 2017. Representatives of development partners were presented Cameroon government’s bogus plan to build a strong, diversified and resilient economy within the 2018 and 2020 time frame.
State radio and television reported that one third of the money is readily available while 68.8% is yet to be mobilized, citing the UN Resident Coordinator Felicite Tchibindat. The development projects are geared towards achieving what the 84 year old dictator stated as Cameroon’s 2035 Economic Emergence vision.
