There are reasons why the Chadian Head of State is in Yaounde
President Biya and the Chadian head of state will discuss several topics. On the menu of their talks are issues of political and economic order. CIR’s Yaoundé city reporter observed that the two men intend to display a willingness to strengthen cooperation between their countries and to finalize the protocol on the proposed construction of a road and modern railway to link Yaoundé and N’djamena.
With a length of 400 km, the railway line between Ngaoundere (Cameroon) and Moundou (Chad) is estimated at 1160 billion FCFA. Experts recently completed the study and have been waiting for the validation of the protocol by the two Heads of State for the project to enter its operational phase.
The Chadian President Leader whose Foreign Minister is running for the presidency of the African Union Commission will try to convince his counterpart to support this candidacy and rally the voices of the Cameroon nation. Idris Deby is aware of the political weight of the 83 year old Cameroonian dictator.
