More than 1,000 people gathered in the Spanish town of Cambrils on Saturday to demand the freedom of Catalan`s political prisoners.

Campaigners chanted as they carried banners of imprisoned politicians through the streets of the town some 117 km from Barcelona.

The act follows a series of demonstrations all over Catalonia and several other European cities, prompted by the arrest of Former Catalan President Carles Puigdemont in Germany one week ago.
