Southern Cameroons War: Barbaric Burning Of Villages in the Twenty-First Century
https://www.facebook.com/tobenofunde/videos/1919184268093414/?t=7The unacceptable video that emerged yesterday showing the military in Cameroon burning down villages in the South West region of the country is repulsive beyond belief. It is a crime against humanity. Genocide!!
For those who still profess that the answers to this struggle and conflict are in Yaoundé, we of this media outlet wish them well. We’ll be interested to hear their explanation after watching such appalling barbarism. The burning down of villages is not isolated and sporadic. It’s well thought-out, planned and intended to cause maximum pain to helpless and defenceless people. How is this going to bring people together for dialogue?
The share lack of consideration and profuse arrogance from Biya and the villains in Yaoundé is beyond the comprehension of any discerning human being. To consider that burning down the villages of innocent, deprived and defenceless people is the key solution to this crisis is insanity and naivety.
The time has come in this struggle when we have to recognise and accept that self-defence is fundamental and non-negotiable. People have to be empowered to defend themselves vigorously and doggedly. We have a legal and moral responsibility to do all in our power to support these defenceless people facing such savagery. The dogma of the colonialist was; shot and kill a few and the others will be frightened to submission. The tactic and order from Yaoundé seem to be; shoot to kill, burn their villages, rape and somehow the legitimate concerns of these people will come to an end without offering any meaningful solutions. These people sadly have no recollection of history and no appreciation of the valid grievances that started this struggle in the first place.
The evidence is unequivocal that we are not dealing with a rational regime. We are not dealing with folks who respect us as human beings with a shared ownership of that nation. We can sit idly by and watch whole communities get annihilated or we can do something about it.
Our response to this state-of-the-art cruelty has to be robust so they know we won’t take this lying down. The leadership shown by the Interim Government over the last few months has been unwavering and reassuring. As we go through these days of grave tribulation, Cameroon Concord News Group calls upon you to donate using the www.mytriptobuea.com platform which we found user-friendly. As it’s becoming increasingly obvious that western governments have no appetite in getting involve in our quest for self-determination, we have to do this on our own. The donations, the brains, and the man power to freedom has to come from us.
If images and videos of villages being burnt down don’t move one to start supporting and donating to this cause, we don’t know what will.
