Southern Cameroons Crisis: “Dr Fontem Neba’s health deteriorating in detention”
The leaders of the Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium Dr. Barrister Felix Nkongho and Dr. Fontem Neba have been placed in solitary confinement for more than 33 days now. The detained Southern Cameroons leaders were transferred to a special location inside the Kondengui high security prison on July 7, 2017.
The Biya Francophone regime that is taking the last kicks of a dying horse reportedly banned visits from their defense team and family members. Lawyers of the Cameroon Bar Association have openly decried the vicious action stating that it is a blatant violation of the law.
In French Cameroun, Decree No. 92/052 of 27 March 1992 on the penitentiary system, Article 45 (A) and (B) stipulates that “the disciplinary sanctions which may be imposed on prisoners are the most arduous tasks, of correction for a period of 15 days maximum. For Lawyers in the Bar, the fact that the leaders of the Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium have been placed in solitary confinement since July 7th, the case against them is null and void.
President Biya backed by the French is currently carrying at an extermination campaign against Southern Cameroonians. Several Southern Cameroons citizens have been killed and hundreds arrested and detained in French Cameroun cells located in Douala, Yaoundé and Bafoussam.
Barrister Felix Nkongho and Dr. Fontem Neba are not allowed to move around the prison yard. Cameroon Intelligence Report gathered that Dr. Fontem Neba is being held in a very dark cell. He is already sick and breathes with difficulty. Besides being put in isolation, certain belongings of the leaders were seized.
