Ambazonia and the Philemon Yang Consultations: A stitch in time saves nine
Southern Cameroonians in the Bamenda State are not really expecting anything from the series of consultations initiated by the so-called Prime Minister and Head of Government, Yang Philemon. Since October 15, 2017, Philemon Yang started staging a series of counterfeit consultations with the socio-political actors of Southern Cameroons.
In Bamenda County, opinions are much divided on the importance of this already failed mission pretending to be in search for a definitive solution to the Southern Cameroons crisis that has shaken the foundation of the Cameroonian nation for a year.
Biya and Philemon Yang are political disasters that have been around for a long time and consequently their peace mission like those in the yesteryear’s is programmed to fail. Cameroon Intelligence Report is aware that it’s a mission that will fail. To be sure, nothing has changed in Southern Cameroons. And this is simply because the Biya junior acolyte returned to the territory to dialogue with an entourage made up of men and women who are extremely lacking in political finesse and who do not have an iota of credibility in the eyes of the Southern Cameroons population.
From images aired by the state-owned radio and television, one can see clearly that the casting of the people accompanying the French Cameroun Prime Minister was badly done. We of CIR could identify that they were chartered members of the ruling CPDM crime syndicate who do not know or share in the sufferings of the people of Southern Cameroons.
In the name of the Southern Cameroons Ambazonia Governing Council, we strongly condemn and reject these visits by prominent and successful Anglophone political failures based in La Republique du Cameroun. This is proof that the Biya regime does not listen and that the Biya Francophone Beti Ewondo government has not understood anything from the brilliant submissions made by Southern Cameroonians and their leadership. Philemon Yang, for your information we cannot solve this problem without revisiting the history of both French and British Southern Cameroons.
The Philemon Yang delegation was no surprise to any keen observer of the Cameroon political story. That is the best you can get from a Prime Minister who spent more than 20 years in a CPDM imposed exile in Canada as ambassador. Who in the Philemon Yang dialogue team represents the rural population? Who is representing the Christian Churches? Who are those representing the civil society, the teachers, the lawyers, the Okada riders (If I may borrow from Prof Elvis Ngole Ngole) and above all, the political parties?
Philemon Yang is likely to continue with his consultation holding meetings with fake trade unionists, French Cameroun administrative officers, pro Biya regime traditional and religious authorities and shaking hands with Ni John Fru Ndi, Chairman of the SDF. But it will not be long before we start hearing gun fire deep in the heart of Yaoundé. A stitch in time saves nine
