South West Region: Mayor Ekema Patrick announces first ever Buea Council Fellowship Program
The Buea Council in partnership with the UK based International Governance Institute and Focal Integrity Team, have partnered to organize a pioneering business management and public service integrity professional development opportunity next July 4th 2016. This declaration was made public on June 2016 by Mayor Ekema Patrick Esunge during a press conference that held in Buea, Fako Division of the South West Region. The Business Management Fellowship, BMF is an initiative aimed to support young public civil servants, private sectors, unskilled small business operators and young entrepreneurs.
The program also target graduates across diverse field and individuals who intend to get drilled in business management and local governance for the sustainable development of Buea Council. The outspoken Mayor Ekema said the program equally seeks to help Cameroon recover lost grounds in governance, economic and social development in a bid to speed up the realization of vision 2035.
Cameroon Intelligence Report understands the program has been code named “Advancing Innovative Citizen led Approaches to Improve Governance’ and is designed to improve and provide support at local government levels and government policies and framework for growth, employment, sustainable development and accountable national governance.
The pioneer training would be reflected on programs such as the National Anti-corruption strategy of Cameroon and the International Monetary Fund enhanced structural adjustment facility Medium-team Economic and Financial Policy Framework. Business management experts including anti-corruption and good governance specialists from African and European universities have been reserved to facilitate the four days’ intensive workshop.
