SDF completes political mission in the Fako constituency
The Social Democratic Front, SDF has completed on a fact finding mission in the Fako constituency in the South West region. The party’s special envoy Hon. Joseph Mbah Ndam who also moonlights as Vice Speaker of the National Assembly opened the South West mission tour last week in Fako division where he visited extensively, all the seven electoral districts of the party. After a three days South West mission Hon Mbah Ndam rated the political situation on the ground as hopeful and promising. In an exclusive interview with Cameroon Intelligence Report’s Bama Victor Cham, the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly made public the bill of health of the party in the Fako constituency.
In the Muyuka electoral district where the battle for political supremacy between the ruling CPDM and SDF parties have been on for decades now, the SDF political engineer disclosed that the SDF has a vibrant executive in place. “There were a few dissenting voices but after our meeting, we now have a winning team in place supported by all”.The situation in Tiko revealed Hon. Mbah Ndam was easily resolved as the “mayor understood that by our party’s rules it not good to be mayor and district chairperson at the same time. Even before we got there he had already given up on that matter”.
Speaking of the Limbe 1 electoral district, the NEC envoy acknowledged that the District Chairman for Limbe sold the party’s victory to the ruling CPDM crime syndicate. “We had all the evidence and so we applied 8.2 on him, we dismissed him from the party with directives from members of his executive that had given him a vote of no confidence”. Mbah Ndam hinted
The MP from the Batibo constituency expressed dissatisfaction on the goings-on in the Limbe II and III districts. He noted that his delegation has succeeded to put in place a group of men and women with solid personal achievements to organize wards in the area. The Idenau SDF noted Hon. Mbah Ndam was slowly but surely coming back to the lime light. “They put up a magnificent show during May 20th celebration, we have advised them on how to put the wards in place, we will be coming back there to organize the executive committee”.
Reacting to the intractable situation of the Buea SDF, Joseph Mbah Ndam said “those who want to claim ownership of the party as their personal estate would always find difficulties when they get into associations operating on the concept of one man one vote. You have to satisfy your electorates that you are worth the salt. If that doesn’t happen you would be voted out. Ours is a democratic party, you go in democratically and you are sent out democratically, that’s why after the organization of the wards, we get into a district conference, after the organization of the districts we get into regional conference, there are all elective conferences, after the organization of the regions we get into the convention and we renew the structures all through”, he added.
Quizzed on who sponsors these districts and provincial electoral districts of the SDF party, he responded “there is no budget coming from anywhere, the SDF mobilize on the contributions by militants, so the budget is down upward not upward downward.” Despite all the problems noticed, he however disclosed that “the party is growing at a very fast rate, where ever I have gone, I have discovered new militants coming in and a fresh determination from the existing militants”.
