Russian Ambassador meets Biya, says Moscow supports Cameroon’s fight against piracy
The Cameroonian dictator Paul Biya has granted audience to the Russian Ambassador to Cameroon, Nicolay Ratsiborinsky. Both men met on the 5th June 2017 at Unity Palace.
During the audience, the 84 year old Biya and the Russian Ambassador discussed economic issues and security relations between Cameroon and Russia. Maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea and the fight against piracy were also part of the issues discussed during the tête-à-tête.
Speaking to the Press, after the meeting, Ambassador Nicolay Ratsiborinsky said he expressed his Government’s appreciation for the manner in which President Paul Biya has been managing the Anglophone Crisis in Cameroon. The Russian Diplomat described President Paul Biya’s measures as bold and daring.
