Roger Milla and wife Stéphanie celebrates wedding anniversary
African footballer of the last century and itinerant Ambassador, Roger Milla and his wife Madam Stéphanie have celebrated their 10 years of marriage at the Saint-Esprit chapel in Yaoundé. Several personalities of the politico-administrative gratin were present, as well as media men and close friends of the couple.
It was on July the 20th, 2007 that the African football legend and Miss Astrid Stéphanie Ondobo got married in a Roman Catholic ceremony that was consecrated by the then Archbishop of Yaoundé, Tony Bakot.
Roger Milla lost his first wife, Évelyne, on January 2004 after a tragic road accident in Cameroon. Said Milla, “I am very happy because I was very attached to my ex-wife who died tragically in January 2004. A year later I regained the joy of living with Astrid Stéphanie. I would like to thank all those who supported me during those difficult moments.”
Milla also observed that the presence of his late wife’s mother during the anniversary ceremony on Saturday the 22nd of July 2017 gave him tears of joy and brought back some sad memories.
