Revealed: What Minister Rene Sadi told CPDM governors in Yaounde
The ten CPDM regional Governors have been told to pledge allegiance to President Biya in the 2018 presidential elections. The Biya appointees were summoned to the nation’s capital Yaoundé for a meeting that started on Tuesday 25th July 2017.
The regime announced over state radio and television that the governors are meeting under the theme “Administrative Authorities, Preserving Social Peace and Protecting Territorial Borders”. Opening the political discourse, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation, Rene Emmanuel Sadi called for more vigilance and collaboration and urged the governors who are all chartered members of the ruling CPDM party to demonstrate their unflinching support to the head of state.
The governors have been given directives and orientation for a better management of next year’s electoral season. Minister Rene Sadi in part of his opening remarks revisited the Southern Cameroons revolution, the war on terror and the conflict in the Central African Republic that has led to a drastic rise of contraband and other acts of vandalism in Cameroon.
He challenged the Governors to take advantage of the comfort and luxury provided to them by the Biya government and show professionalism in the discharge of their duties. The Minister of Finance, Alamine Ousmane Mey is also expected to assure the governors of some new vehicles that will be made available to them soonest.
