President Buhari has hailed the Super Eagles after their 4 – 0 thrashing of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. Buhari tasked Nigerians to continue supporting the national team. Aso Rock also praised Akwa Ibom state for hosting the World Cup Qualifier.

Goals from Odion Ighalo, John Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Kelechi Iheanacho gave Nigeria the win. A statement released by the presidency reads: “The President joins millions of football-loving Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora in applauding the senior men’s football team for their disciplined, skillful and entertaining display against the defending African champions.”
