New York: Biya humiliated by CPDM militants
Despite numerous appeals by the Cameroon ambassador to the US for CPDM militants to come out massively and welcome President Biya, Cameroon Intelligence Report has learned that less than ten supporters of the regime actually came out to receive the Cameroonian dictator who arrived late on Sunday in New York. Mr Biya, 83 is in the US to participate in the 71st session of the General Assembly of the UN. Some of the militants were heard murmuring privately that he should step down.
Biya is expected to address the United Nations on the refugee crisis including the humanitarian situation in the Lake Chad Basin. Cameroon is currently hosting more than 250,000 refugees of all nationalities, spread over several towns and cities. The country also faces the sensitive issue of internally displaced persons.
President Biya Biya will also address the subject of renewable energy and the war against the Nigerian Islamic sect, Boko Haram – which has pledged allegiance to the Organization of the Islamic state and calling itself the Islamic State Province in West Africa.
