New French Ambassador meets Minister Delegate in charge of relations with the Islamic World
The Minister Delegate in charge of relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum has met with the new French Ambassador to Cameroon, Gilles Thibaut. Ambassador Gilles Thibaut who officially took over from Christine Robichon on the 17th of September 2016 used the opportunity and presented his advanced letters of credence. He is expected to perform the accreditation rituals infront of President Paul Biya at state house soon.
The 57-year old diplomat before coming to Cameroon was French Ambassador to Burkina Faso where he spent three years. Some intelligence sources have hinted that he secretly participated in ousting the former Burkinabe dictator, Blaise Compaore. Gilles Thibaut was also Ambassador of the West African Economic and Monetary Union. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Law, is married and a father of four.
