Mount Cameroon Race of Hope: Fai Elvis Ndzedzeni wins amid massive boycott
Faï Elvis Ndzedzeni, is the winner of the Men’s category of the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope 2017 edition which took place on Saturday, February 25 in Buea and was massively boycotted by the Anglophone population in the South West region. Fai Elvis was 6th in 2016.
Godlove Gabsibium came second and was followed by Lyonga Essome in the third position. For the women, Lisette Ngalim won for the second time after the 2014 edition. The 50 year old six-time champion, Sarah Liengu Etonge was not on the podium. She however crossed the finish line.
Each winner went home with the sum 10 million CFA francs. The second positions for both the men and ladies received 5 million FCFA and 3 million for the third. As a reminder, 600 athletes from 8 countries, including Cameroon, took part in the 22nd edition of the race.
