Minister Hele Pierre announces the creation of a National Stock Exchange for Waste
Hele Pierre, Minister of the Environment announced on Thursday in Yaounde, the creation soon of a national waste recycling project. The Pierre Hele scheme referred to as the National Stock Exchange for Waste will aim to process and recycle waste and garbage found on the streets of the country.
The government’s goal, we learn is to create a healthy environment at least for those coming for the Africa Cup of Nations 2016 and 2017.
Some 6 million tonnes of waste are littered all over the country. From the late Emah Basile to Pokossy Doumbe and from the creation of the Ministry of Towns to the recent one now headed by Hele Pierre, the CPDM anti garbage rhetoric has been the same. The Yaounde authorities say they want to recycle waste abandoned on our streets.
