Maroua: 4 Vigilante Group members killed in Amchide Boko Haram Attack
The Nigerian Islamic sect, Boko Haram has carried out a double bombing campaign in the Amchide district killing 4 members of a pro government vigilante group. Our chief correspondent in Maroua hinted that the explosion also killed the two suicide bombers, reported to be about 13 and 15 years old. Six people were also seriously injured.
The Biya Francophone administration has ordered a security deployment to the area after the double explosion in Amchidé to secure the local population and their property. The attacks that were staged on Tuesday night followed the brutal killing of three Cameroonian soldiers on patrol and the abduction of a man and his 6 children on 18 August.
UNICEF recently revealed that Boko Haram used 434 suicide bombers between April 2011 and June 2017, 56% of whom are mostly women and children. The rise of suicide bombers is troubling the Yaoundé regime including the Southern Cameroons quest for an independent state.
