La Republique: Francophone Labour Minister calls for dialogue at workplace
The Francophone Minister of Labour and Social Security, Gregoire Owona has highlighted the importance of social dialogue as prerequisite for a smooth working environment. The CPDM Minister was speaking at the May 20 Boulevard as he chaired activities to mark the International Labour Day, on the 1st of May 2017.
Minister Gregoire Owona whose health has been deteriorating recently, added that it is only through dialogue and open-mindedness that peace and serenity can reign at the workplace. The Minister’s speech was preceded by that of the President of the Confederation of the Independent Trade Union of Cameroon, Gilbert Ndzana Olongo.
The Confederation President paid tribute to Cameroon’s defense forces for their tireless commitment to their work of fighting terrorism. After the speeches came the march past proper with over 200 enterprises and companies involved.
