Kenyan MP kicked out of parliament for bringing her baby
A female MP was removed out of Kenya’s parliament on Wednesday (August 7) for bringing her baby into the chamber.
Zuleika Hassan said she brought her child with her due to an emergency and she did not want to miss her duties as a parliamentarian, adding there was no creche in the parliament building for her baby to be looked after.
According to parliamentary house rules ”strangers” are not permitted within the chamber leading to Speaker Christopher Omulele ordering Hassan to leave in footage broadcast live on parliamentary TV.
Hassan was escorted out by members of security and was joined by a number of fellow female MPs who walked out with her.
