“I want to be the first African to manage a great European team” Eto’o
The former French Cameroonian international and four-times African best footballer who has had a successful European career with FC Barcelona winning two Champions Leagues titles, 2006, 2009 and at Inter of Milan in 2010 before his numerous spells in the Premier League that took him to notably Chelsea FC and Everton FC, is dreaming of asserting his talents as a coach of a great European team at the end of his career as a player.
Samuel Eto’o made the revelation during a sporting gala in Benin Republic. The controversial striker also spoke of his support for the current FIFA president.
“I support Infantino because he works to develop African football. I am not a politician; I do not want to become a politician after my football career. When I hang up, I will study to become a coach. I want to be the first African to train a great European team.”
Eto’o was guest speaker last weekend in Cotonou, Benin, as part of an awards evening of the best sportsmen of the year 2016, organized by the Minister of Sports, Oswald Homeky . Samuel Eto’o Fils, the 36-year-old French Cameroonian forward currently plays for Antalyaspor Futbol Kulübü (Turkish D1).
