Heartless Biya in tit-for-tat move against former Minister Marafa’s notary
The name Abdoulaye Harissou, who has been detained at the State Secretariat for Defense (SED) for three years, is contained in a presidential decree signed on Monday by the Head of State, terminating the duties of a score of notaries. The action is seen as a move by the 84 year old Head of State to finally crush the remnants of former Minister Marafa.
The 84 year old butcher of Yaoundé signed several decrees on Monday and one of them ended the functions of 24 notaries who all have reached the age limit of 60 years. The list included the name of Abdoulaye Harissou, aged 64, notary of the former Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Marafa Hamidou Yaya.
Cameroun Info.Net reported that the very discreet Abdoulaye Harissou was widely publicized after his arrest on the 27th of August 2014. He was accused of plotting against the President of the Republic, complicity in assassination and illegal possession of weapons of war. He was also “reproached” over his trips abroad and especially in the countries of the gulf region.
The former Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Marafa Hamidou Yaya detained in the Secretariat of Defense (SED) since 2012, was convicted of co-incurring misappropriation of public funds and was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Supreme Court.
