German Chancellor snubs Biya on mini-tour of Africa
The Bundeskanzlerin, Angela Merkel will be on a mini-tour of the African continent to discuss terrorism and illegal immigration from October the 9th 2016. Cameroon Intelligence Report gathered that the tour that will run till Tuesday the 11th of October will begin with President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita of Mali.
The peace, security, economic development and migration tour, will also take the German Chancellor to Niger, a country that is constantly under Boko Haram incursions. Angela Merkel will jet to Ethiopia to participate in an African Union (AU) ground-breaking ceremony of a new building for peace and security, built on the premises of the AU in Addis Ababa. The new building named after the late Tanzanian President, Julius Nyerere was built with financial support from the German government.
Merkel will return to Berlin and on Wednesday, October 11, 2016, hold talks with the Chairman of the African Union, President Idriss Deby Itno of Chad and President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria. Sources close to the German chancellery in Berlin say Cameroon, which is one of the countries in the front line of the war against terrorism, has been ignored in this German offensive. A member of parliament from the ruling CPDM party who confirmed this news item to us but sued for anonymity observed that the present German administration is very disappointed with the way Cameroon has been misruled.
