Pierre Emerick Obameyang (27) failed to travel with the Gabonese squad to Victoria in the South West region. The Gabon team arrived in Cameroon from Sudan without the superstar captain who reportedly has resumed duty with Borussia Dortmund in Germany.

His absence from the team is seen as a major blow to the organizers of the meeting as many of his Cameroonian fans may not purchase tickets for the friendly encounter. Pierre Obameyang is not the only big name missing in the Gabon team.

The midfielder from Juventus, Mario Lemina did not also make the trip to Victoria and has ever since returned to his club after the game in Sudan.
