Fru Ndi slams Biya regime’s policy of arresting Anglophones advocating federalism
The Chairman of the Social Democratic Front, Ni John Fru Ndi has condemned Cameroon government policy of arresting Anglophone citizens advocating federalism. Fru Ndi observed that the policy of demonizing leaders of the Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium and the rapes, killings and arbitrary arrests going on in the English section of Cameroon should be stopped immediately.
The Chairman told CRTV’s George Ewane in a live conversation at Unity Palace that the CPDM anti federalism policy and the failure to properly address the Anglophone problem poses a threat to peace and stability in the country. Fru Ndi attacked the Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma over his claims that there was nothing like an Anglophone problem.
The SDF leader criticized the Cameroon government spokesman for spreading phobia against English speaking Cameroonians on national radio and television, saying that labeling Anglophones as extremists is complete lunacy. The SDF Chairman further noted that Yaoundé anti-federalism policy is not reasonable because it may cause the country to disintegrate.
The Biya Francophone Beti Ewondo government is angry with the Anglophone community over its steadfastness in challenging the Francophone political elites and is doing everything to undermine the Southern Cameroons resistance. Francophone appointed governors in the South West and North West regions including their numerous Senior Divisional Officers have not been able to push forward Biya’s devastating political agenda in Southern Cameroons.
The Biya regime has ignored the dangers posed by the Nigerian Islamic sect, Boko Haram and has deployed troops all over West Cameroon who are now wreaking havoc in Buea and Bamenda. There are massive double standards coming from Biya himself against the Anglophones.
