French Cameroun: Biya’s whereabouts unknown
President Biya who is one of the Heads of State invited by the Secretary General Antonio Guterres to officially take part in the 72nd ordinary session of the UN General Assembly has reportedly not gotten to New York ever since he and his wife, Chantal Biya left Yaounde.
The couple left Cameroon on Thursday, September 14, 2017 and Cameroon Intelligence Report gathered that Biya did not travel directly to the US. He and his wife are expected in New York on Sunday. However, a lot of tongues are already wagging in French Cameroun on the whereabouts of the President.
There has been no official communication to French Cameroonians on the current location of Mr. Biya and his wife. There is no doubt that the presidential couple must have stopped in a country whose name is kept secret. CIR sources have hinted that Biya first visited Geneva in Switzerland. He will therefore leave from there for New York.
Paul Biya, apart from his wife, has an official sequel composed of Le Jeune Mbella Mbella Minister of External Relations, Martin Belinga Eboutou Minister, Director of the Civil Cabinet, Hamadou Moustapha Minister of Presidency of the Republic, Paul Atanga Nji Minister of Special Duties, Luc Sindjoun and Joseph Fouda as Special Advisers, Simon Pierre Bikelee Head of State Protocol, Henri Etoundi Essomba Ambassador of Cameroon to the United States and Michel Tommo Monthe, Ambassador of Cameroon to the United Nations.
The 72nd regular session of the United Nations General Assembly began on Tuesday, 12 September 2017, at the headquarters in New York, United States of America. But Heads of State and Government are expected to attend a session at the headquarters of the Organization on Tuesday, 19 September 2017, to discuss global issues under the theme “Priority to people, peace and decent lives for all planet preserved “.
