French Cameroun: 10 choir members killed in horror Mbalmayo crash
Some members of two choral groups en route to participate in the funeral rites of an old Biya acolyte were killed in a ghastly accident yesterday Friday the 25th of August 2017. Cameroon Intelligence Report gathered that 10 people died at the So’o Bridge near the town of Mbalmayo.
Witnesses say a military truck in the colors of the national gendarmerie from Yaounde was transporting the members of the Holy Choir Rita de Hiala and the Coronation Choir Heart of Mvolye when it had a head-on collision at the entrance to the So’o Bridge with another truck carrying a container.
The shock with the military truck was inevitable. On the spot were a dozen dead and several wounded. Some of the victims were transported to hospitals in Mbalmayo and Yaoundé. The drama occurred during a heavy down pour of rain. Traffic was cut off for hours on this important axis that runs from the capital Yaounde to the bottom of the South region, on the border with Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
