The third Gyneco Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital is being constructed in Ebolowa the South Region. The controversial Minister of Public Health Andre Mama Fouda on the 7th of September 2016 launched the construction of the new hospital which is being constructed to ameliorate the health status of the inhabitants of the South Region.

The Ebolowa gyneco-pediatric hospital is the third in Cameroon after Douala and Yaounde.  The first in Yaounde (HGOPY) was created after a presidential decree signed on 26th October 1993 in Beijing China. The second in Douala (HGOPED) still after another so called presidential Decree signed on Thursday 23rd January 2014 with the Government of China. The Anglophone sector of the country needs to turn towards Nigeria to benefit from the services of a pediatric hospital.
