Francophone Cameroun footballer appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador
Samuel Eto’o has been appointed Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Children’s Fund. The French Cameroun international who demonstrated a very frightful and unloving attitude towards Prime Minister Philemon Yang prior to the FIFA World Cup in Brazil by refusing to receive the national flag from the hands of the Anglophone Head of Government, arrived Cameroon on Tuesday night and is expected to tour several towns and cities in Cameroun.
The controversial footballer who remains an ardent supporter of the 84 year old Cameroun dictator, Paul Biya will hold meetings with young people during which he will have the opportunity to present his advocacy for the improvement of the situation of children, specifically orphans and displaced persons. Eto’o will raise children’s awareness of education, health, sport and integration into working life.
