Fon Echekiye to be interrogated by State Security today, Says motive not political
Iconic sports commentator of the Cameroon Radio and Television, Fon Echekiye has said that the summon he received from security agents of La Republique du Cameroun has no political motive behind it. The Chief Football correspondent and senior anchor man will be heard today at the famous Secretariat for Defense in Yaounde.
In a recent posting on his face book, Mr. Echekiye observed that he was humbled by the outpour of affection for his person and added that he and his legal team will be duly notified today Tuesday the 28th of March 2017 on the reasons behind the convocation.
Fon Echikiye further revealed he was ready to provide answers to any questions that would be asked by the forces of law and order in French Cameroun.
Below is what Fon Echekiye posted on social media:
HELLOOOO. GREETINGS TO ALL AND SUNDRY AND AM HUMBLED BY THE OVERWHELMING SHOW OF CONCERN FOR MY PERSON. BUT I MUST SAY THE SUMMON THAT I RECEIVED BY PROXY WAS SILENT ON THE CHARGE(S) AND IT TOOK MORE THAN 48 HOURS TO HAVE A CLUE. THERE IS ENOUGH REASON FOR ME AND MY LEGAL TEAM TO SAY IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS. WE SHALL BE DULY NOTIFIED TOMORROW AT THE JUDICIAL SERVICES OF SED WHAT IS THE ISSUE AND SO HELP PROVIDE ANSWERS TO ANY QUESTIONS THAT WOULD BE ASKED. ACCEPT MY GRATITUDE AGAIN ON DEMONSTRATING IN ESSENCE WHAT IT MEANS TO BE EACH OTHER’S KEEPER.
