Dublin host Southern Cameroons North West Women’s Empowerment Luncheon
The North West Women in the Irish Republic have launched an association to provide care, motivate and support their living in the Diaspora. The association known as the North West Women of Substance Ireland also aims to empower the Southern Cameroonian women residing in the various counties of Ireland.
Through their monthly forums, the women will provide platforms to facilitate financial assistance to needy persons back in Cameroon. They are also intending to facilitate a spirit of oneness and togetherness in all their citizenry in the Irish republic and Northern Ireland.
In a historic gala celebration that was animated by renowned Makossa artist Sammy Diko in Dublin, the President of the Association, Susan Tang said “Women’s access to finance is crucial for their economic empowerment but despite significant progress in Cameroon, the North West Women of Substance Ireland intends to serve as an additional push factor in this regard.”
Over the years, the North West Women have worked to increase women’s participation in NOWACIRE, the mother organization grouping the people of the North West region in Ireland.
