Double suicide bombing in Kolofata kills 8
Eight people were killed on Friday in a double suicide bombing in Kolofata, Mayo-Sava Division in the Far North region. A leading security source that strongly demanded anonymity hinted Cameroon Intelligence Report that the two suicide bombers blew themselves up during an installation ceremony of the Sub Divisional Officer for Kolofata.
The two suicide bombers, young girls of about 14 and 15 years, triggered their explosive almost simultaneously not giving any chance to the local population. The provisional record indicated at least eight deaths and thirty with serious and light wounds.
The motives behind the suicide bombing, which took place not far from the ceremonial square, are still unknown for the moment. The small town of Kolofata, a border crossing in Nigeria, is very vulnerable to the incursions of the Boko Haram terrorists who have declared allegiance to the Organization of Islamic State and is now called the Province of the Islamic State in Africa.
