Divided Spain faces another election
Spain is facing more troubling times as the country prepares for yet another general election due to take place on Sunday.
This will be the fourth election in just four years for Spaniards with two of the four taking place this year.
Ahead of the vote, Spain’s main candidates faced off in a heated TV debate. The riots in Catalonia were heavily discussed.
The far-right Vox Party appeared energized with polls predicting gains for the populist group.
Elsewhere on Monday, thousands of pro-independence demonstrators chanted “Catalonia has no king!” amid a visit by the Spanish royal family to the regional capital Barcelona.
Spanish authorities are trying their best to encourage unity, but it’s the separatists and radical leftist or right-winged parties who seem to command the respect from Spain’s divided streets.
