CPDM Section President’s car set on fire in Bamenda
Less than a week after the Center for the Advancement of Women and the family in Bamenda was burnt down by an unknown Southern Cameroon militant group, a car belonging to the Section President of the ruling CPDM party in Momo Division has also been set on fire.
Security sources in Bamenda say in the night of Thursday 25 to Friday 26 of May, unidentified individuals, infiltrated the residence of the Section President of Ngie in the department of Momo, Comarde Ubangoh Helly and burned his Prado jeep leaving the victim stunned by the violence of this act. In his narrative, the concerned reported that “my family and I had been awakened abruptly around midnight by an explosive sound. And when we came out of the house to check the cause of this detonation, we saw the flame coming up, my new Prado brand vehicle not yet registered was on fire. “
According to his remarks, his crime stems from the fact that he had mobilized the militants of the party who massively took part in the parade of the 45th edition of the so-called National Day celebrated on the 20th of May. Cameroon Intelligence Report gathered that for some time now, he has been subjected to threats on social networks especially on Facebook.
Nevertheless, the chairman of the Ngie CPDM section filed a complaint against the unknown. An investigation was initiated by law enforcement authorities in this locality, to find the perpetrators of this act, which could have jeopardized the life of a family.
