CPDM appointments: One principal to head two different high schools in the West region
A Ministerial Order signed on the 7th of September appointed Thaddeus Wafo as principal of two different academic institutions in the West region. The Minister Jean Ernest Ngalle Bibehe order made the said Thaddeus Wafo principal of Tougang II High School in Mifi and of Babadjou High School in Bamboutos.
The Minister of Secondary Education (MINESEC), Jean Ernest Ngalle Bibehe was simply following the footsteps of his boss President Paul Biya who regularly appoints dead persons to positions of responsibility. The lucky Thaddeus Wafo, was previously Principal of Lycée Classique Bafoussam, before Minister Jean Ernest Ngalle decided to reward him with a double CPDM appointment.
Tougang High School is in Mifi Division while Babadjou High School is in the Bamboutos district. For some observers, this dual appointment of Thaddeus Wafo came as a result of tampering with official documentation. Appointments at MINESEC were blocked at the Prime Minister’s office and also at the presidency of the republic because of the existence of a consortium of corrupt networks operating in the ministry. Minister Jean Ernest Ngalle Bibehe Massena finally appointed his principals just two days after the school year had started.
However, in a country where some are cabinet ministers and at the same time, directors of state-owned companies and some are retired civil servants and are still chairpersons of major corporations; Mr Thaddeus Wafo should be provided with the necessary 4×4 to enable him run the two high schools.
