Carlos Kameni in Istanbul ahead of Fenerbahce move
Goalkeeper Carlos Kameni has arrived in Istanbul as he closes in on a move to Fenerbahce from Malaga. The 33-year-old has been capped by Cameroon on 71 occasions and will bring a wealth of experience with him to his new club.
As reported by the club’s official website, Kameni was greeted by supporters at the airport and the deal is expected to be finalised shortly. Carlos Kameni made 79 saves in La Liga last season.
Kameni made an average of 2.26 saves per game in La Liga last season and kept eight clean sheets, while he had an average claim success rate of 63%. Having commenced his career at Le Havre, Kameni joined Espanyol in 2004 and made 222 league appearances for the club before eventually moving on to Malaga.
Fenerbahce, who finished third in the league last season, have already made several signings this summer, bringing in Mathieu Valbuena, Mehmet Ekici and Nabil Dirar, with Kameni set to be the latest arrival at the club. Carlos Kameni had a distribution success rate of 62% in the league last season
