Cameroon: Visiting Imam from Saudi Arabia calls on Muslims to be ambassadors of peace and unity
The Muslim community in Yaounde has been called upon to be ambassadors of peace and unity. The call was made today Wednesday the 6th of July 2016 at the Yaoundé Central Mosque, where some 2000 Muslim faithful gathered to say the last Ramadan prayers.
The Eucharistic session was presided over by the Imam Dr. Ahmed Jilani from Saudi Arabia in the presence of state dignitaries including the Minister of Communication Issa Tchiroma Bakary and the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Cameroon.
The presiding Imam congratulated Muslims all over the world for succeeding to accomplish the 30 days fast, saying that their efforts are going to be richly rewarded. He further called upon them to be united more than ever before against terrorism. According to him, Islam is not a complicated religion, but rather a religion of tolerance, mercy, meekness, peace and tranquility.
