Cameroon professional basketball player dies after an exhibition match in Yaounde
Charles Youmbi Sibetcheu a basketball player suffered a cardiac arrest after playing an exhibition game on Saturday July the 2nd 2016 in the nation’s capital. Cameroon’s national daily, Cameroon Tribune reported that Charles Youmbi and his teammates celebrated victory when he suddenly fell. They tried to revive him to no avail. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Born on the 19th of May 1985, Charles Youmbi played his basketball in France. His club has also paid tribute to him on the net, hailing him as “a great man, a person of extreme generosity.” The former player with Samazan, Garonne and Marmande, Charles Youmbi Sibetcheu regularly wore jersey number 6 with the Indomitable Lions.
