The brutal attack on Dynamique Citoyen for organizing a debate on Cameroon’s electoral system by the police marred World Democratic Day Celebration in Yaounde. The Post newspaper says, Dynamic Citoyen is a non governmental organization, which on this special day organized a debate at Mvog-Ada neighbourhood in Yaounde. Buea Residents criticize Clean-up Campaign:
According to The Post Newspaper, in an interview with residents, closing up business places for a number of hours to clean up is not proper. With the recent demolishing of spotted business stands in the streets of Buea, criticism has even increased as many residents do not appreciate the uninformed demolish.
Government Politicizes Women’s AFCON draws:
The head of state said, hosting the women’s AFCON is a milestone to promote gender equality and fight all forms of discrimination faced by women. Looking at The Sun newspaper, this summit which held at the multipurpose sports complex in Yaounde, saw in attendance Cameroon’s top leaders who ended up disappointed over meager Fcfa 4.8 billion budget.
Cameroon incurs FCFA 182B Debt for Bini Hydroelectric Dam:
In a bid to increase electricity supply and assuage the menace of constant and acute power outage in Cameroon, a deal was made to construct a hydroelectric dam, over River Bini, in the Adamawa region. In The Rambler, this deal was secured with the Chinese, and Cameroon taking a loan of FCFA 182 billion. This deal is now pending and will soon be realized.
