Cameroon announces the recruitment of 1,800 commandos for the Rapid Intervention Battalion
In a statement issued on Saturday, the 1st of October 2016 on state radio and television, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo, announced the recruitment of 1,800 elite commandos for the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR).
The Joseph Beti Assomo press release stated that the special recruitment will be held from January the 7th to February the 16th, 2016 in the ten regions of the country. Candidates must have at least First School Leaving Certificate and be aged between 18 and 23 years old. Being single and childless will be an added advantage. Applicants are also expected to have at least a height of 1,66m.
