Cameroon and Noble Energy sign production sharing contract
The Government of Cameroon has signed a production sharing contract with Noble Energy Cameroon Limited. The contract was signed on the 1st of June 2017 between the Minister of Mines, Industries and Technological Development, Ernest Ngwaboubou representing Government, the General Manager of the National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH), Adolphe Modiki and the General Manager of Noble Energy Cameroon Limited.
The 25-year renewable contract enables Noble Energy Cameroon Limited to develop natural gas resources discovered in the Yoyo bloc, in the Douala – Kribi – Campo Basin. The contract is in provision of the Petroleum Code of Cameroon and its related model contracts. Speaking on the occasion, the Director General of Noble Energy Cameroon Limited hailed the contract, referring to it as an opportunity for economic growth. The contract will among other things, ensure the protection of the environment. Noble Energy is an American based company with over 90 years experience in the energy domain.
