CAF President Issa Hayatou confirms the holding of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon
The President of the Confederation of African Football, Issa Hayatou was received on Tuesday by Gabonese leader, Ali Bongo at the presidential palace in Libreville.
The meeting between the two men comes ahead of the draw for the 31st African Cup of Nations football (CAN) 2017 scheduled to hold today Wednesday the 19th of October 2016 at the Angondjé stadium.
Cameroon Intelligence Report was informed that both men held very productive discussions on the staging of the biggest African football event in Gabon. The presidential press service issued a statement immediately after the meeting that the two discussed issues related to preparations for the CAN 2017.
Ali Bongo Ondimba reassured the president of CAF on the progress of various projects in the four cities planned to host the 16 delegations coming from all the nooks and crannies of the African continent.
Issa Hayatou reportedly reiterated his support to the Gabonese head of state and confirmed the holding of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
