Buea to host YALDA Conference in October
A preparatory meeting for an international conference expected to attract some 200 youth across several African countries from the 5th to 9th of October 2016 to map the way forward in fostering regional integration for a prosperous Africa has held in Buea, capital of the South West region. During the discourse bearing the theme Transforming Youth Potential into Opportunities Across Africa, representatives from the Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa, YALDA, revealed that the University Buea has been selected to host the historic event.
The conference organizers told reporters that Cameroon would be hosting the 6th edition of the all-time African event after Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria and Ethiopia respectively. The conference which will run for a week will provide very intensive and productive exchanges with particular focus on the fast degrading economic, political, social, and cultural life of Africa.
Barrister Poubom Rehbeh, who also moonlights as the International Secretary noted that the Buea forum will provide opportunities for young people to get innovative ideas. The learned man of law added that it will be frank, candid and a thoughtful key to promote regional integration in Africa through mentoring and shaping.
