Boko Haram kills 3 in Kolofata
At least three people were killed on Tuesday in Kolofata in the Far North region, sources closed to the Joint Multinational Force headquartered in Mora, Mayo-Sava Division have revealed.
The information has also been confirmed by eyewitnesses whose villages were the targets of the night incursion by the jihadists. The heavily armed assailants attacked the small town of Ndaba-Blakoldji, about 15 km from Kolofata. Three people were killed and a dozen others injured. The Boko Haram militants made away with cattle and food stuffs.
The assailants set fire on some few shops during the attack. A villager was hit by bullets during a counter offensive launched by the Cameroon army. Many Boko Haram fighters were killed and dozens captured. A day before the Kolofata attack, heavily armed members of Boko Haram attacked the village of Achighassia looted and burned houses.
Painted as militarily weakened, the Nigerian Islamic sect continues to sow death and desolation among the Cameroonian population through suicide or sporadic attacks.
