Blaise Compaoré meets Henri Konan Bédié: Are the French planning something?
The former president of Burkina Faso, Blaise Compaoré was received in audience today Monday by the ex- President of the Ivory Coast, Henri Konan Bédié who is also the current leader of the PDCI-RDA party.
The former mentor of the Ivorian rebellion and architect of the rise to power of Ouattara now a wealthy refugee in the Ivory Coast, was received at 11 am by Henri Konan Bédié at his residence in Cocody in a meeting that Cameroon Intelligence Report learned lasted 30 minutes.
A spokesman for the PDCI-RDA refused to brief the media on what the two French surrogates discussed. An aide to Henri Konan Bédié was quoted as saying that, “This is a private tour. We are not allowed to make press statements given the refugee status of Blaise Compaore.
Today’s meeting with Konan Bedie is Blaise Compaore’s first official outing ever since he fled to Côte d’Ivoire in 2014. An international arrest warrant was issued by Burkina Faso against Blaise Compaore and Ivory Coast responded by dishing out to him the Ivorian nationality.
