Biya trapped in hotel as Southern Cameroons protesters surround building in New York
Southern Cameroonians in the United States gave an international dimension to the demonstrations organized yesterday Friday September 22, 2017 in New York by the members of the Southern Cameroons Governing Council demanding the release of all those incarcerated in the context of the Anglophone crisis.
Yesterday Friday, September 22, 2017 was a painful day for President Paul Biya. Visibly worn out by age, the French Cameroun dictator did not have a serene rest after his speech at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Shortly after his return to the hotel where he has been since Sunday, September 17, 2017, President Paul Biya had a second part of the day disrupted by a huge Southern Cameroons crowd that came from almost all states within US.
They demonstrated for several hours to demand the release of all those imprisoned as part of the Anglophone crisis.
Holding the American flag and that of the newly created state of Ambazonia, the demonstrators chanted “Biya must go”. Proof that beyond the liberation of their militant comrades, the activists are also calling on Mr. Biya to retire.
