Biya regime moves to reclaim the debate on the Southern Cameroons crisis
CPDM Central Committee Member, Prof Pascal Charlemagne Nyamnding shortlisted for the Cameroon Concord News Man of the Year award has hinted that President Biya has accepted a discussion on the Anglophone Problem in the National Assembly. The political scientist told Radio Balafon on Monday the 27th of November 2017 that the Social Democratic Front applied a striking political strategy that won the hearts of many Cameroonians. He likened the SDF blockade of the parliament to a strategic victory.
Pascal Charlemagne Messanga Nyamnding considered as a “rebel” within CPDM cycles, welcomed the “blockade operation” initiated by the SDF party which was aimed at compelling the CPDM majority in parliament to open the debate on the Southern Cameroons crisis.
“I would like to politically and strategically congratulate the SDF parliamentarians who have made a strategic retreat because, you see, when they boycotted the parliament; this act was so unpopular that the SDF technicians and political agents felt that something had to be done. You know that the assembly is like the Agora, this high place of exchanges where people express themselves and say what they want.”
The French Cameroun political elite pointed out that it was completely unacceptable for the 3rd parliamentary session to open without a debate on the Southern Cameroons crisis. “I think that the SDF has scored very big points and good points in my opinion. Voluntarily or involuntarily, the SDF has given Mr. Biya the opportunity to see the position of Anglophones in present day Cameroon.”He moved forward and assured his interviewer that the SDF action has partly settled the Anglophone problem.
Some months ago,Pascal Messanga Nyamnding reportedly announced that Biya was going to release the leaders of the Consortium before the decision was officially made public. “I assure you that President Paul Biya since yesterday agrees with this position (…) The National President agrees with the posture displayed by the SDF. He thinks that we need to discuss the Anglophone question. This is a national problem and on this point the SDF deputies played well. They are in their role, “he concluded.
It is vital to include in this report that the interim Head of State of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia, His Excellency Sisiku Ayuk Tabe has called on all Southern Cameroons MPs to withdraw from the National Assembly in Yaoundé and return to Buea. President Ayuk Tabe also did announce his first ministerial cabinet that sent shock waves throughout La Republique du Cameroun.
